Question:

Should I invest on my own or should I use a financial advisor?
-NotSure

Answer:

It depends in part on how much you have to invest. If you have little in the way of assets, it might not be worth the time and expense. If your financial affairs are quite intricate, though, an advisor makes sense. An advisor is likely to have more extensive knowledge than you do about the markets, as well as expertise - or access to it through associates - in such diverse fields as taxes, accounting and insurance. Even if you are a veritable Einstein when it comes to all of these aspects of financial planning, you may still get good use from an advisor for the simple reason that the advisor is not you and therefore can provide dispassionate perspective, free of the emotion and bias that you are bound to bring to any financial decision. Also, as with medical treatment or buying a car, it usually helps to get a second opinion.
